What is twofour54?

Twofour54 Abu Dhabi – subsidiary of Media Zone Authority – Abu Dhabi (MZA), is a media free zone established in 2008 to provide a business hub for local, regional and international media companies; start-ups and media professionals. As of May 2017, twofour54 encompasses 450 companies operating in the creative industries including international brands such as the CNN, Sky News Arabia and Cartoon Network Studios. It also has a talent pool of nearly 4,000 professionals including over 600 freelancers.

Media Zone Authority – Abu Dhabi (MZA) approves the establishment and registration of companies in the media free zone and regulates all related procedures and matters.

Twofour54 delivers its advanced solid infrastructure through three key pillars: twofour54 Tadreeb (the training academy), twofour54 Ibtikar (innovation and support) and twofour54 Intaj (state-of-the-art production facilities) supported by business enabler twofour54 Tawasol (one-stop-shop).

Types of set-up available in twofour54:

• Free Zone Limited Liability Company (FZ-LLC)

A FZ-LLC is an independent legal entity, with individual shareholder(s), corporate shareholders or a mixture of both individual and corporate shareholders.

• Freelancers (for individuals only)

The Freelancer Licensing offers individuals the ability to operate as a freelance media professional (sole proprietor) within the twofour54 media & entertainment hub.

• Branch

A Branch is a representation of an existing UAE-based or foreign company incorporated in another jurisdiction or free zone.

• Start-Ups

This option is only offered to content creation entrepreneurial start-ups which are in the business of digital content creation (mobile, online, device content) and A/V content production for TV, web and cinema.
