How to Register as an ADNOC Vendor

- Jade Wong

Businesses looking to collaborate with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), one of the world's leading energy companies, need to fully understand the process of how to get ADNOC approval. The ADNOC vendor registration process is a necessary gateway to becoming an approved supplier for ADNOC projects, qualifying vendors and providers who wish to work within ADNOC and appear on their list of suppliers.

ADNOC is a key global energy producer in Abu Dhabi and was established in 1971. It is one of the main contributors to the country’s economy, and its contracts to local businesses are worth millions annually.

What are the key requirements for ADNOC supplier registration?

In the early stages of the ADNOC supplier registration process it is necessary to check the Work/Product list provided by ADNOC as this must match with the Licence activities.

  1. A Mainland Abu Dhabi DED Licence is required. This may be in the form of an LLC or Foreign Branch.
  2. The Trade Licence will need to obtain Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC) Approval.
  3. The activities listed on the Licence will need to match the services and products desired to undertake with ADNOC.

PRO Partner Group can assist with reviewing this and adjusting the activities that may be required.

The next steps are to consider the stages for registration and necessary documents required to submit to ADNOC for their review.

What are the documents required for ADNOC supplier registration?

To complete the vendor registration process with ADNOC all the company’s details are required, including:

  1. Company Trade Licence

What is the ADNOC registration process?

The process and steps for ADNOC vendor registration are:

1. Register and activate SAP Ariba Account number to provide access to ADNOC Commercial Directory.

The first step in the ADNOC vendor registration process is to create and activate a SAP Ariba Account. This account provides access to ADNOC's Commercial Directory, where it is then possible to initiate the registration process. It's crucial to have this account set up to proceed further.

      2. ADNOC Registration accessed via Ariba account number.

Once the SAP Ariba Account is active, access the ADNOC Registration portal using the Ariba account number. This is where the necessary company documents and information details that ADNOC requires for vendor qualification will be submitted.

(All company documents and information details are required at this stage and to be submitted)

        3. 1 week for submission to be reviewed by ADNOC. If successful, ADNOC will then call to proceed to the Pre-Qualification stage.

After submitting the company documents and information, there is a wait period for approximately one week whilst ADNOC reviews the submission. During this review period, ADNOC's experts will assess the eligibility based on the provided information. If successful, ADNOC will call with regards to proceeding to the next stage.

          4. Pre-Qualification – Provide examples of 3 projects and further technical information may be requested on products or services.

The Pre-Qualification stage is a critical step in the ADNOC vendor registration process. Here, it is required to provide examples of at least three projects the company has previously completed. Additionally, ADNOC may request further technical information about the products or services offered. This stage helps ADNOC ensure that the business possesses the necessary experience and expertise to meet their standards.

            5. Acceptance - If successful through Pre-Qualification, the applicant will then be visible on ADNOCS supplier list.

If successfully passed the Pre-Qualification stage, the applicant will be officially accepted as an approved vendor for ADNOC. The company will then be listed on ADNOC's Supplier list, making it visible to ADNOC project managers and procurement teams. This recognition opens the doors to potential collaborations and opportunities within the ADNOC network.

The ADNOC vendor registration process is a structured journey that allows vendors and service providers to become part of ADNOC's pool of trusted suppliers. By following these stages and meeting ADNOC's rigorous criteria, businesses can position themselves effectively in the dynamic Abu Dhabi energy industry.
