ADNOC Vendor Registration
To build and preserve a network of services providers of quality, ADNOC vendor registration is required. The ADNOC vendor registration is a process which qualifies vendors and providers who wish to work within ADNOC. ADNOC annually contracts worth millions are granted to local based companies, this is the reason why ADNOC must be stringent in whom they choose to work with and register as qualified vendors.
ADNOC is one of the world’s key energy producers and a primary driver for the growth of Abu Dhabi. Since 1971, ADNOC has been in the forefront of the industry and has boosted global appearance through strategic economic development. ADNOC’s 2030 strategy has been implemented to maximize value of product, in turn, heightening ROI’s and increasing global demand for energy.
A strict qualification procedure has been implemented by ADNOC for the registration of all vendors and suppliers, this registration is only reserved for businesses based in Abu Dhabi with an Emerati 51% partner who’s passport is registered in Abu Dhabi. Even if an Emerati partner holds an Abu Dhabi issued passport, this does not guarantee qualification as many factors come into play.
What are the initial requirements?
In order to be able to register as an ADNOC Vendor the Company will need to first establish an entity in Abu Dhabi. An LLC Company or Foreign Branch will need to be set up in Abu Dhabi with a DED Trade Licence and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce licence with Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC) Approval plus the relevant business activities of the company.
Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC) Approval authorises a company with the activity of “Onshore and Offshore Oil & Gas Field & Facilities Services” on the Trade Licence and is required when a company would like to register as a ADNOC vendor.
The SPC approval will form part of the DED company formation process and once the SPC approval is obtained on the initial licence then the full DED Licence will be issued.
Companies looking to deal directly with any companies related to the Oil and Gas sector in Abu Dhabi require SPC Approval on their trade license. SPC approval is mandatory for all companies dealing with Oil and Gas companies operating in Abu Dhabi, regardless of the main activities they are trading with. This approval is also compulsory for companies to issue CICPA (Critical Infrastructure & Coastal Protection Authority) security passes which provides access to oil field and critical infrastructure sites.
