DMCC Companies: Appoint a Company Coordinator

From the 15th of May 2022, all companies in Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) will be required to appoint a Company Coordinator. The registered Company Coordinator role in DMCC is an authorised individual who will represent the company when directly interacting with DMCC, whether virtually or in-person, to inquire, submit and collect official company documents and liaise with the DMCC Freezone Authority on behalf of the company.

A DMCC company can appoint an existing employee from their DMCC company, or an employee sponsored by a branch company, or they can appoint an external consultant. Multiple individuals that can be appointed as a Company Coordinator if required.

It is also important to note that for as long as the Company Coordinator's visa is valid, they are considered an active authorised representative of the DMCC company, and upon visa renewal, their appointment must also be renewed. Furthermore, if the individual appointed has a dependent visa and a work permit, a Permanent Identity Card (PIC) or Labour Card must be uploaded in the service request during the application process.

How to appoint an existing employee

To appoint an existing employee as a Company Coordinator, the applicant must:

  1. Go to the ‘Employee Services – Company Coordinator – Appoint new Coordinator’ page in the DMCC member portal.
  2. Fill in the mandatory fields under ‘authorizing an existing employee’, as well as all other fields stated. However, do not fill in the fields for ‘company coordinator – appointing a consultant’ as it is not applicable here.
  3. Once filled, click ‘save’, and proceed to upload the required documents.
  4. Pay the required payment.
  5. Submit the service request/application.

Once submitted, DMCC will review the service request, and notify the applicant if any additional information or documents are required. The applicant will also receive an email when the Company Coordinator has been appointed.

Requirements

The following are the documents required for an existing employee to be appointed:

  • A copy of an authorisation letter from the company that is printed on the company letter head, signed and stamped by the authorised signatory.
  • A copy of the applicants Emirates ID.
  • A copy of a clear and coloured valid passport, including the valid visa page.
  • If the applicant is under a dependent visa, a copy of their PIC or Labour card is required.

How to appoint a consultant or an employee sponsored by a branch company

To appoint a consultant or an employee sponsored by a branch company as a Company Coordinator, the applicant must:

  1. Go to the ‘Employee Services – Company Coordinator – Appoint new Coordinator’ page in the DMCC member portal.
  2. Fill in the mandatory fields under ‘appointing a consultant’, as well as all other fields stated. However, do not fill in the fields for ‘company coordinator – authorizing an existing employee’ as it is not applicable here.
  3. Once filled, click ‘save’, and proceed to upload the required documents.
  4. Pay the required payment.
  5. Submit the service request/application.

Once submitted, DMCC will review the service request, and notify the applicant if any additional information or documents are required. The applicant will also receive an email when the Company Coordinator has been appointed.

How to renew a Company Coordinator

To renew a Company Coordinator, the applicant must:

  1. Go to the ‘Employee Services – Company Coordinator – Renew Company Coordinator’ page in the DMCC member portal.
  2. Fill in the mandatory fields.
  3. Once filled, click ‘save’, and proceed to upload the required documents.
  4. Pay the required payment.
  5. Submit the service request/application.

Once submitted, DMCC will review the service request, and notify the applicant if any additional information or documents are required. The applicant will also receive an email when the Company Coordinator has been renewed.

How to update the details of a Company Coordinator

To update the details of a Company Coordinator:

  1. Go to the ‘Employee Services – Company Coordinator – Update details of Company Coordinator’ page in the DMCC member portal.
  2. Fill in the mandatory fields.
  3. Submit the service request.

Once submitted, DMCC will review the service request, and notify the individual if any additional information or documents are required. The applicant will also receive an email once the Company Coordinator details have been updated.

How to Revoke a Company Coordinator

To revoke a Company Coordinator:

  1. Go to the ‘Employee Services – Company Coordinator – Revoke Company Coordinator’ page in the DMCC member portal.
  2. Click ‘Revoke Company Coordinator’ to submit the request.

Once submitted, the DMCC will notify the individual once the appointed Company Coordinator has been revoked.
