New on arrival visa information for non–Schengen European, UK, Canadian and Australian passport holders.

Previously as a UK, Canadian, Australian or other non–Schengen passport holder on your arrival into Dubai, Abu Dhabi and across UAE you received a 30 day visa on arrival – this 30 days would then be renewed on exit and re-entry.

However the new process that Immigration have introduced is that on arrival for the first time to UAE - UK, Canadian or Australian and other non-Schengen passport holders will receive a 40 day multiple visa on arrival. The 40 days starts from the day you arrive – this is counted as one day

1. You can then exit and re-enter as many times as you wish from day 1 until day 40 – you will not receive another 40 day visa until the 40 days have expired – this is regardless of whether you spend a number of days outside of the UAE.

For example if you entered Dubai on September 1st your 40th day will be October 10th . You will then need to exit UAE for at least 24 hours before you can re-enter and receive another 40 days multiple entry visa. Previously it was acceptable to exit and re-enter on the same day but this is no longer permitted.

It is possible to extend your 40 days for a further 20 days without exiting by applying via Immigration for AED600 plus typing fees.

If you stay past the 40 days you will be fined AED200/- for the first day and AED100/- for every subsequent day after.
