E-Channel system registration - replacing FAWRI in Abu Dhabi

There has been a significant update to the MOI (Immigration) e-Visa system in Abu Dhabi.

Previously companies in Abu Dhabi have been using the “FAWRI” e-Visa system to register their company and continue MOI (Immigration) services and Visa applications.

Now you can apply online for visas as the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign affairs (GDRFA) in Abu Dhabi has launched “e-Channels’ in line with the Emirates Vision 2021.

It aims to speed up the visa and residency applications in the country, and under the new system, people don’t need to physically visit different visa centres in the country.

In partnership with Tahaluf Al Emarat Technical Solutions, the ministry has worked on the development of the e-services system that allows typing centres, companies and individuals (citizens, residents and Gulf Cooperation Council nationals) to apply for residency and naturalisation services.

Using “E-channels”, UAE citizens and residents can apply for visas, follow up on applications and print visas through the new portal.

Companies can submit applications without having to visit General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs centres.

As from today 18-12-2017 the FAWRI system is being replaced by the new MOI system “E-channel”

The government is now phasing out FAWRI and requires all companies to move to “E-channel” in order to process Visas. For a period of time it looks like both systems will run in parallel whilst the FAWRI system is wound down. There will be some overlap in this interim period.

Companies in Abu Dhabi should obtain the E-channel login to allow them to progress with current and future visa applications.

The fees are the same as for FAWRI and are as follow:

• New Registration: 5000 AED as Refundable Bank Deposit and approximately 2050 AED as Government fees for registering
• Renew Registration: 1050 DHS as Government fees for renewing your registration each year
