Saudi Arabia Announced Agreements Totaling $4.26 Billion at 2024 Global Logistics Forum

The first edition of the Global Logistics Forum 2024, organized by the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, concluded in Riyadh on October 14. The event saw the signing of over 65 agreements and memorandums of understanding, with commitments surpassing SAR 16 billion, setting a strong precedent for international cooperation and investment in Saudi Arabia’s logistics sector.

The forum was inaugurated by the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and attracted over 130 global experts and leaders, alongside 13,000 attendees, including high-level government officials from more than 30 countries. More than 15 ministers and 77 industry leaders were present to discuss logistics innovations and challenges.

Agreements at the Global Logistics Forum

Several notable agreements were announced in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment, involving partnerships to boost maritime linkage, enhance supply chain efficiency, and support infrastructure development.

Other memorandums signed focused on establishing regional medical supply centers and promoting industrial transformation goals within Saudi Arabia. Agreements with organizations supporting medical logistics and industrial development underscored the Kingdom’s dedication to enhancing its logistics and supply chain infrastructure.

The forum served as an international platform for industry experts, academics, and consultants to discuss advancements in the logistics sector. Key topics included the security of trade routes, the impact of modern technology on logistics, and strategies for maintaining efficient supply chains amid global challenges.

Saudi Arabia’s strategic location, bridging three continents, was highlighted as a core asset in global logistics, strengthening its role in supporting international trade and expanding logistics infrastructure. These advantages position Saudi Arabia as a hub for discussions on the global logistics industry’s future.

At the forum’s conclusion, participants called for increased international cooperation and private sector investment to advance logistics infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on connectivity projects linking South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
